Call for Applications: Two Studios at Künstler*innenhaus Büchsenhausen (2025-30)

The Künstler*innen Vereinigung Tirol announces a call for applications for two studios in the Künstler*innenhaus Büchsenhausen. The studios offer visual artists living in Tyrol working space in a professionally interesting environment.

THE KÜNSTLER*INNENHAUS
Künstler*innenhaus Büchsenhausen is a postgraduate center for production, research and discussion in the field of visual arts and art theory. Büchsenhausen creates a forum for direct exchange between professionals from the region and abroad as well as a point of interaction with local publics of interest. Künstler*innenhaus Büchsenhausen is a section of the Künstler*innen Vereinigung Tirol.

The building – the east wing of Schloss Büchsenhausen – houses a total of ten studios as well as a large project and presentation room. Six studios are available to artists living in Tyrol. Four additional residential studios are used by the Fellowship Program for Art and Theory. The project and presentation room “Labor” is available to the studio users once a year during the Fellowship-free period for the presentation of their own work free of charge.

THE STUDIOS
The studios are about 50 m2 in size, have central heating, running water, a shared toilet and shower. All studios have access to the business broadband internet connection of the Künstler*innenhaus (via cable and/or WiFi).

TERMS AND APPLICATION PROCESS
Artists living and working in Tyrol are eligible to apply for the studios. Applicants must be active in the field of visual arts (fine arts, media art, architecture, performance, etc.) or must deal with this field in an artistically relevant way in their work.

Individuals and groups are eligible to apply. If necessary, the rooms can be used jointly by several artists.

The studios can be rented for a maximum of five years. The studios will be available as of April 2025. One of the studios will probably be available in advance, as early as 1 February 2025. The lease is initially concluded for one year and subsequently extended by one year at a time. The monthly rent at the beginning of the lease is EUR 242,–. The deposit amounts to EUR 726,–. The studio may not be used for residential purposes.

The decision will be made by a jury consisting of representatives of the board of the Künstler*innen Vereinigung Tirol and the director of the Künstler*innenhaus.
