Opening of the Research Center „Migration and Globalization“
Cooperation with the University of Innsbruck
To mark the opening of the newly founded research center “Migration and Globalization” at the University of Innsbruck, a presentation of the book “Nach der Migration. Postmigrantische Perspektiven jenseits der Parallelgesellschaft” (eds.: Erol Yildiz / Marc Hill) and a panel discussion on the topic will take place in Künstlerhaus Büchsenhausen.
The newly-established research center “Migration & Globalization” combines competencies from the educational and historical sciences, literature and linguistics, European ethnology and philosophy, political science and sociology, law, and architectural theory. It sees itself as a contact point for scientists working in corresponding fields and others with relevant interests, as well as for society, the media and politics; it functions as a platform for interdisciplinary exchange and cooperation, for the development and realization of research projects; it provides teaching and advanced study courses, advisory services, and also hosts events. In addition, the center will help to network the University of Innsbruck with a number of other national and international research, teaching and archival institutions, as well as NGOs and associations in the field of migration/globalization.
