Highjacking Hindsight – cancelled due to covid 19

In the context of his project at Büchsenhausen on the phenomenon of the flags of convenience used by cargo ships in order to circumvent costs, transport and labour standards of their own countries, Ash Moniz presents his newest work Highjacking Hindsight. The video intertwines audio recordings made on board of a cargo ship with the visual documentation of a performative event in the middle of an icy landscape. It deals with the idea, floated by MAERSK, of a new sea route across the North Pole so as to avoid the “risks” encountered passing through the Suez Canal.

The event takes places in the context of the Premierentage 2020.
