Plai. A Mountain Path

The life of Hannusia and Dmytro, who have been married for over thirty years in a remote village hidden in the Carpathian Mountains, has changed since Dmytro lost his leg in eastern Ukraine. Eva Dzhyshyashvili’s documentary feature tells the story of people who have saved more than they lost under the pressure of our ambivalent present. The meditative portrait follows the daily routine of the couple and their two grandchildren, whose questions gradually reveal the traces of the Russian-Ukrainian war that lie beneath the surface of their seemingly peaceful existence.

The screening is a collaboration between Office Ukraine Innsbruck and cinematograph·leokino and takes place on the occasion of the second anniversary of the full-scale war against Ukraine.
