Vassiliea Stylianidou

Vassiliea Stylanidou’s 2004 video and video installation works explored the conditioning of perception in hypermedial worlds. Her interest focused on the discreet interfaces between reality and fiction and the intertwining of individual and medium. Stylianidou’s artistic investigations during her three-month residency in Innsbruck centered on different ways of transforming the real using the body (in its urban appearance) as an example. This work resulted in three video installations, which were presented under the title profiction01: In them, the artist approaches materialization forms and modes of representing reality as a hybrid multimedia item.

Vassiliea STYLIANIDOU (*1967) studied literature and linguistics at the University of Ioannina/GR and fine arts at the University of the Arts in Berlin. Vassiliea Stylianidou lives and works in Berlin.
