Christoph Voglbauer

Christoph Voglbauer was born in Tyrol in 1985 and currently lives and works in Vienna. His educational path began with photography, from 2011 to 2014 at FotoK (course for artistic photography), which he completed with a diploma. He then studied site-specific art with Nicole Six and Paul Petritsch and sculpture and space with Hans Schabus at the University of Applied Arts Vienna from 2015 to 2021. In 2018, he deepened his studies at the Iceland Academy of the Arts with Bryndís H. Snæbjörnsdóttir.

Since 2023 he has been a university assistant in Gelitin’s Sculpture – Transmedial Space class at the University of Art and Design Linz. Previously, he worked as a helping hand for artists such as Toni Schmale, Judith Fegerl and Gelitin, which gave him valuable insights into artistic production. Between 2009 and 2023, he was also active in the field of art handling and exhibition installation and worked for renowned institutions such as the Secession, Albertina, MAK, Mumok and numerous Viennese galleries.

Prior to his artistic career, he worked as an architectural draughtsman at Bernard Ingenieure from 2002 to 2007, where he specialized in structural engineering, civil engineering, steel and bridge construction as well as route planning and measurement technology. This technical expertise still informs his artistic practice today.
