Seemingly unchangeable social realities and their representation in the media are Elisabeth Schutting’s motivation for her artistic work. With the energy of the experimental, she deconstructs images from everyday life, history as well as art history, and shifts contexts and perspectives to create productive misunderstandings. Elisabeth Schutting’s work is to be understood as a continuous remix, which finds expression in digital as well as analogue works.
Elisabeth Schutting was born in Innsbruck and studied Graphic Design and New Media (LA) at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, as well as History and Social Studies at the University of Salzburg after training and working as a graphic designer.
